Podcasting is one of the newest pedagogical approaches to storytelling introduced through Digital Learning at Muhlenberg. Inviting students to share their research, learning, and own personal stories using only audio encourages them to listen deeply, construct clear and compelling narratives, and speak to an audience beyond their classrooms.
Podcasting also encourages students to work together and engage with voices and perspectives outside their courses to help develop rich and engaging audio pieces that they can easily share within personal and emerging professional networks.
Faculty are integrating podcasting practices in courses in psychology, anthropology, history, religion, media and communication, film studies, and more. Faculty and staff across campus share and explore new approaches to podcasting and audio storytelling through an ongoing Podcast Teaching Collective which meets a few times a semester.
