For the fall semester, all activities in the Digital Learning HIVE (Trexler B06) will be conducted virtually and online. This includes a variety of opportunities for continued support, learning, and community, as well as faculty consultations with Instructional Design Consultants and student peer partnership with Digital Learning Assistants. As we shift to providing digital learning collaboration and services virtually, we have redesigned some of the ways we organize and provide faculty development opportunities and student digital project support. Our 3DI principles—digital inquiry, digital inclusion, and digital imagination — continue to guide our work in the virtual HIVE.
On this website, faculty and will find a weekly schedule where you can sign up for appointments with Instructional Design Consultants. Students will find the weekly DLA schedule which will include open drop-in hours as well as scheduled DLA appointments. New this semester, we will offer a rotating set of weekly workshops on the central tools and applications that faculty are integrating into their online learning experiences. As the semester gets underway, these workshops will begin with introductions for VoiceThread, hypothes.is, and Berg Builds Domains and WordPress. Other topics, like podcasting, WeVideo, and KnightLab tools such as StoryMapJS and TimelineJS, will follow.
We will be updating this page with additional opportunities and resources regularly. Please check back often!
